Cicilline: "A tragic hour for our country"

US Representative David N. Cicilline has just issued a statement about today’s shooting in Arizona, which injured US Representative Gabrielle Giffords and killed and injured a number of other people at a constituent event in Tucson:

I am deeply saddened by the news that Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, her staff and members of her community were victims of a horrific and senseless act of violence.  This is a tragic hour for our country, and I send my deepest condolences to all those who have lost a loved one as a result of this hideous attack.

On behalf of my constituents in the First District of Rhode Island, I extend my thoughts and prayers to Congresswoman Giffords, her staff, and her constituents, all of whom were victims of this tragedy. They will all remain in our prayers.
