Chafee to receptive to hearing Block’s budget-savings ideas
April 11, 2011
Chafee administration spokesman Michael Trainor says the governor is receptive to hearing former rival Ken Block’s ideas for finding waste and fraud in health and human services spending.
Block, who ran last year as the Moderate Party’s gubernatorial candidate, believes a review could produce savings of roughly $150 million to $300 million dollars in the health and human services arena.
Block says he plans to formally volunteer his efforts to aid the state as part of written testimony to legislative committees this week.
