Xay, former Caprio campaign manager, heads to NYC
May 4, 2011
Xaykham “Xay” Khamsyvoravong – one of the few Rhode Island political hands known by their first name — and the manager of Frank Caprio’s Democratic gubernatorial 2010 run, has left the Ocean State for a finance job in New York City.
Khamsyvoravong, a Barrington native, graduated from Brown and gained notice while managing Caprio’s winning 2006 run for state treasurer at the tender age of 22.
Khamsyvoravong declined comment when contacted by On Politics. Given his well-known affection for Rhode Island, we won’t be surprised to see him return one day.
As the AP’s Michelle Smith reports, Xay’s former boss, Frank Caprio, has also landed a finance job.
