Loughlin set for potential rematch with Cicilline

May 10, 2011

Amid word of Brendan Doherty’s imminent challenge to David Cicilline, Republican John Loughlin says he’s also primed for another run in CD1.

“I think I’ve earned another shot at this,” Loughlin says, adding that he plans to gear up after an expected return from Iraq in December. The former GOP rep from Tiverton is set to travel to the Middle East in a military deployment later this month. Loughlin adds.

Obviously, the most important thing right now is that the First Congressional District have a congressman who is truthful above all else with the voters, and I think the record demonstrates that Congressman Cicilline has been less than truthful with the voters.

Cicilline has defended his description of Providence’s fiscal challenges.

    Doherty is a Democrat!

I did a little checking at the town hall in Cumberland and it seems that in 2006 and 2008 he voted as a registered democrat!

So I guess my questions for him would be, in 2006, where you supporting Sheldon Whitehouse over Carl Sheeler and Chris Young? and in 2008 were you a Hillary supporter or were you for Obama?
