A strange year at the General Assembly — and it’s not over yet
October 28, 2011
If the cards fall right, ruling legislative Democrats will be able to hit the campaign trail next year while taking credit for:
– Turning back most of Governor Lincoln Chafee’s unpopular tax plan;
– Making a fundamental and far-reaching overhaul of Rhode Island’s pension system.
While at the same time, the Dems and their GOP bretheren will:
– Face questions about four legislative colleagues (an even split of Democrats and Republicans) who were either arrested or indicted.
