Chafee announces appointees to study panel on local pensions

Following picks earlier this week by Senate President M. Teresa Paiva-Weed and House Speaker Gordon Fox, Governor Lincoln Chafee has made his appointments to an upcoming study panel on local pensions. That fills out the slate as follows:
Governor’s appointments:
- Paul Doughty, International Association of Firefighters,Providence
- Jean Bouchard, Municipal Vice President, AFSCME, Council 94
- Steven St.Pierre, Sergeant, Bristol Police Department
Legislative appointments:
- Antonio Pires, Former State Representative and former Chairman of the House Committee on Finance (Speaker Fox)
- J. Michael Lenihan, Former State Senator and former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance (Senate President Paiva Weed)
- Angel Taveras, Mayor, City of Providence
- Joseph M. Polisena, Mayor, City of Johnston
- Bruce R. Kaiser, Town Administrator, Jamestown
Statutory appointments:
- Rosemary Booth Gallogly (chair), Department of Revenue Director
- Dennis Hoyle, Acting Auditor General
- Treasurer Gina Raimondo, Representative from the General Treasurer’s Office
- Representative from the Department of Administration
- Cranston Mayor Alan Fung, Representative from the League of Cities and Towns
- John Simmons, Representative from theRhode Island Public Expenditure Council
