MONDAY, January 23:

1:30 RIPTA board meeting. Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian expected to get the nod as new chairman for the transit agency. 

6-8 pm at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick. Sponsored by the RI Democratic Party. Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Roberts, General Treasurer Gina Raimondo, and Senate President Teresa Paiva Weed speak on the theme of women in politics.

TUESDAY, January 24:

8:30-11:45 am, CCRI Knight campus, Warwick. General Treasurer Gina Raimondo hosts a pension workshop: “Helping Cities and Towns Meet the April 1 RIRSA Deadline.”

General Assembly: House and Senate Judiciary committes consider redistricting legislation (House Judiciary, Room 35, at the rise; Senate Judiciary, Room 313, 3 pm) . . . . House and Senate Finance committees consider allowing Pawtucket to issue tax anticipation notes (3 pm, House Finance in Room 35, Senate Finance in Room 211) . . . . Special House Commission on RI Resource Recovery hears DEM presentation, Room 35, at the rise.

The new state study panel on local pensions holds its first meeting.
