A bit more on the New Leaders Project
Sommer says the project has a similar mission as the Rhode Island Statewide Coalition’s RISC Business Network, but is focused exclusively on supporting what he calls pro-jobs candidates for the General Assembly. He expects the New Leaders Project to endorse about six candidates in July.
Sommer, a mortgage advisor who serves as the president of the East Greenwich Education Foundation, says the project, unlike RISC, will not take stances on particular pieces of legislation. He likens the New Leaders Project, which launched about two weeks ago, to EMILY’s List in its intention to support specified candidates, and channel funding their way.
