David Caprio not pursuing write-in campaign

September 28, 2010

State Representative David Caprio, outgoing chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, tells On Politics he will not pursue a write-in campaign in November. Caprio lost the Democratic primary on September 14 to Teresa Tanzi in a hard-fought race.

Caprio’s stance sets him apart from Representatives Douglas Gablinske, Mary Ann Shallcross Smith, and Al Gemma, who announced their write-in plans a short time ago at the State House. More details later.

In related news, Representative Michael Rice — one of five reps who became a primary focus for organized labor — reportedly plans not to pursue a write-in bid.
