NEA “suspicious” on arrest in Gablinske case

November 30, 2010

Here’s the statement from the National Education Association Rhode Island, responding to the arrest of NEA employee John Leidecker following allegations that he sent misleading e-mails in the guise of Douglas Gablinske.

National Education Association Rhode Island (NEARI) Executive Director Bob Walsh has issued the following statement:

“We are aware that one of our employees was taken into custody this morning. We have no first-hand knowledge of the charges. However, given the involvement of Representative Doug Gablinske in this matter, we are suspicious about the motivation for this action. At this point, we are waiting until our attorneys sort things out.”

Walsh is a member of Governor-elect Lincoln Chafee’s transition advisory committee.
