Chafee appoints Paula McNamara to Investment Commission
Paula McNamara of East Providence has been named to the Rhode Island Investment Commission by Governor Lincoln Chafee.
McNamara has held several high-ranking positions at Fidelity Investments since 1987, most recently serving as senior director of client services at the mutual funds giant’s Smithfield facility.
McNamara has also served as president of the board of trustees of Lincoln School.
A 1984 Brown University graduate, she has served the university on the president’s Leadership Council and as vice-president of the Brown Sports Foundation. She is the daughter of retired banker Terrence Murray.
McNamara is Chafee’s first appointment to the commission. This nomination now goes to the State Senate for confirmation. The commission is chaired by General Treasurer Gina Raimondo and is responsible for investing the state retirement fund.
