Sen. Whitehouse communication director leaves
Matt Thornton, Sen. Whitehouse’s communications director, has left the senator’s office, according to a message on his voice mail. Thornton reportedly has another politically-related job, but so far there is no word on where he is headed.
Thornton has been the senator’s chief spokesman since August, 2009. He took over from Alex Swartsel when she left to a attend grad school at Yale University. A Kansas native Thornton is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and served as communications director for Congressman Zack Space, an Ohio Democrat, before joining the Whitehouse staff.
