Charlie Fogarty roast for Fund for Community Progress
Charlie Fogarty, the former Democratic lieutenant governor and current director of the state Labor and Training Department, is on the griddle in this year’s annual Fund for Community Progress fund-raising dinner.
The event takes place at the Quonset O Club from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, October 6. The O Club is located at 200 Lt. James Brown Road in North Kingstown.
Among those roasting Fogarty are Lt. Gov. Elizabeth Roberts, State Sen. Maryellen Goodwin, D-Providence, State House lobbyist Rick McAuliffe and Democratic activist and onetime congressional candidate Kate Coyne-McCoy.
Master of ceremonies for the event is Dan Jaehnig of WJAR television.
The roast kicks off the Fund for Community Progress annual workplace giving campaign. Money raised goes to a bevy of non-profit agencies that help Rhode Islanders.
Tickets are $65 each and can be obtained by calling 941-7100 (401).
