Whitehouse raises 550K+ in Q3; $2.6M on hand
Whitehouse for Senate today announced that Rhode Island’s Senator Sheldon Whitehouse has nearly $2.6 million cash on hand, after raising more than $550,000 in the third fundraising quarter of 2011. A diverse coalition of Rhode Islanders – seniors, small business owners, nurses, veterans, and more – pledged their support to keep Whitehouse in the Senate because they know he will continue to fight to help the people of Rhode Island.
“It’s an incredible honor to represent our great Ocean State in the Senate and I continue to be humbled by the support I’ve received from every corner of Rhode Island,” said Whitehouse. “Rhode Islanders can count on me to keep fighting for the policies and principles we believe in: putting people back to work, protecting Social Security and Medicare, defending Pell Grants, ending tax giveaways for big oil corporations, and so much more.”
Whitehouse’s third quarter total brought the campaign’s cash on hand to nearly $2.6 million. The quarter featured a well-attended event at Kempenaar’s Clambake Club in Middletown where nearly 700 grassroots supporters turned out to support Whitehouse’s re-election.
Hinckley’s campaign recently announced that it has raised about $163,000 during Q3, with an expected cash on hand total of about $148,000.
