Hurdles fast approaching for RI’s new defined contribution plan
As the issue of municipal pensions looms over the new General Assembly session, the process is moving forward — starting tomorrow — for implementing the state’s new defined contribution plan.
A bidders’ conference for firms interested in competing for the DC plan is set for Thursday between 9 am and noon in Conference Room A at the State Department of Administration.
Proposals for the DC plan have to be submitted by 5 pm on January 20.
According to the schedule laid out in the state’s request for proposals, finalists will make their presentations on February 22, starting at 9 am.
The winning firm or firms is/are due to be selected March 1, with the plan being implemented July 1.
