RI House approves vets license
The Rhode Island House has approved legislation that would give special drivers licenses to military veterans. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Peter Martin, D-Newport, will allow the DMV to issue licenses with a veterans notation. A $5 fee will be charged for the special license.
Martin said the measure is designed to be a tribute to vets and to alert first responders in a medical emergency that the license holder is a vet. The bill now goes to the Senate, where a cimiliar mesure is being sponsored by Sen. Wally Felag, D-Warren.
