Flanders’ law firm is charging Providence $395 an hour
The hourly rate charged by HAS varies from $210 for junior associates to $725 for senior partners such as Stephen J. Carlotti. “[W]e will provide these [legal] services to the City at a discounted blended rate of $395 per hour for all personnel who work on the Matter,” according to an October 27 letter written by Flanders to City Solicitor Jeffrey Padwa.
Hinckley Allen Snyder’s representation of Providence became public knowledge after a recent meeting between Flanders and Mayor Angel Taveras.
The letter puts the regular rate for Flanders at $675 per hour. It also says Carlotti “will have primary responsibility for this Matter,” the subject of which was redacted in a copy of the letter provided by the city to RIPR.
Flanders wrote that Carlotti “may be assisted, as needed, by Malcolm Farmer III and other attorneys in our firm and by paralegals in order to take advantage of the firm’s expertise and to handle this engagement promptly and in the most economical manner.”
