RI Presidential Primary set
February 15, 2012
President Barack Obama is the lone Democrat running on the April 24th Rhode Island presidential primary ballot, but five Republicans will be on the GOP side, says Secretary of State Ralph Mollis.
The Republicans are: Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum, Ron Paul and Buddy Roemer, the former Louisiana governor.
To qualify for the primary, each presidential candidate had to submit signatures of at least 1,000 Rhode Island voters.
Romney led the field with 3,320 certified signatures, followed by Gingrich (3,124), Paul (3,081), Santorum (1,687) and Roemer (1,491). President Obama’s campaign had 2,403 valid signatures.

Rhode Islanders are customarily too stupid to vote Republican. This is the premiere State of Entitlement.
