Nancy Pelosi to raise money in RI for DCCC

February 21, 2012

The 2012 campaign cycle is heating up in Rhode Island, with Vice-President Joe Biden coming to Providence Thursday to raise money for Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse with an event at the Providence Biltmore. (You first found about that one here at RIPR’s On Politics site).

On the heels of Biden’s stop is a March 18th time for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Portsmouth where the headliner is U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-California. The DCCC, known as the Dee Triple C in political parlance, is the group that finances the campaigns of  U.S. House Democrats, so some of the money harvested at this event could go to Rep. David Cicilline, the incumbent 1st District Democrat who faces a well-financed challenge from Republican Brendan Doherty of Cumberland, the former state police superintendent. Pelosi will appear at the Democratic fundraiser at Carnegie Abbey.

Not to sound overly critical, but!
God willing, with any luck the both should be indicted at the same time during the fundraiser, and/or they along with most of the attending group are arrested in a raided by the vice squad. Well to be fair all that is just wishful thinking on my part, and most of the Sate’s population that is not hooked on Democratic Party Kool-aid.
