Newspaper Guild Follies show has a few tickets left

February 21, 2012

There are a few tickets left for Friday evening’s Providence Newspaper Guild Follies, the social event of the year in Rhode Island political circles. Once again, the union that represents employees at the Providence Journal is producing the show nobody wants to miss, a spoof of all things Vo Dilun in skit, song and well-placed gibe.

As is always the case, the show is on the last Friday in February at the Venus De Milo in Swansea, Mass., so that the show is beyond the jurisdiction of Rhode Island law enforcement.

This year’s edition has some fine moments and great voices and the sound system is first-rate. No word yet on the MG (Mystery Guest) so let the guessing begin. Past mystery guests include just about every statewide RI pol and such others as Barney Frank,  John Kerry and Bill Bradley.

For last-minute tickets, call the Guild office at 401-421-9466.
