Foulkes, Chafee’s pick for vice-chair at EDC, resigns

May 24, 2012

CVS Caremark executive Helena Foulkes, Governor Chafee’s choice to be vice-chair of the state Economic Development Corporation, has resigned. She released the following statement through her employer:

“I have discussed with the Governor his plans for the Board at the EDC, and I think it is best at this time I resign. I wish him good luck in this very difficult challenge.”

The EDC remains under scrutiny following the 38 Studios fiasco. The agency has been marked by a revolving door of executive directors for years.
