Doherty on the air with his first commercial: “Those guys [in DC] don’t know what tough is”

September 12, 2012

Republican congressional candidate Brendan Doherty launched his air war today, using an introductory-style commercial to tout himself as a tough crime-fighter who can bring common sense to Washington.

Campaign manager Ian Prior says Doherty’s initial ad buy is for $122,000, and it was coordinated with the National Republican Congressional Committee.

Watch for Democrat David Cicilline, fresh from a big primary win over Anthony Gemma, to get on the air quite soon.

If it’s so easy “to cut wasteful government spending” Mr. Doherty, then how specifically would you do it? “Let’s fight back” against what??

Brendan talking about cutting government spending is a hoot. Here’s a guy who has a six figure pension courtesy of RI taxpayers. He never paid one dime into the pension system….not one dime. And spare us all the talk that the State Police work the toughest beat in RI. The cops in Providence do more on a weekend that a Statie does all year.
